I apologize for being so absent from my blog recently, life has really been busy! I will be catching up on blog posts over the next several weeks!
Now, for this beautiful styled session that I am dying to share with you!! 😀 Shayla + Dylan go back a little over 2 years with Jon and I. We shot their Back In The Dress/Anniversary Session in a beautiful field an hour outside of town, while I was pregnant with Liam! You can see it, here!
Dylan contacted me in January/February because he wanted to gift Shayla a portrait session as a Valentines Day Gift!! I thought it was such a cute idea and was totally on board! After Valentines Day, Shayla contacted me to plan what she envisioned for her session. For those of you who don’t know, Shayla is an extremely talented Baker who is working hard at her dream of having her own Bakery/Studio. She is also very crafty and has an Etsy account where she sells gold foiled canvases, paintings and more to help save for her future Bakery! [Side note: I just ordered one with her for Liam’s room and can’t wait to see it!!] If you’d like to help her pursue her dream, check out her Etsy here and Facebook Fanpage!!
So because of her passion, she naturally mentioned baking a cake for the session. You guys, I’ve had muffins she’s made before, so I was ALL for her bringing cake!! As we continued talking about her ideas for the session, a second cake was involved, and then home made donuts, cookie sandwiches, cookie tacos, a BEAUTIFUL gold sequined dress, floral ice [that turned out fantastic!!] a bouquet of wild flowers and a FLOWER CROWN [made by Melanie from Lemon Drops] that really pulled everything together! Not to mention a cute little bench her hubby made specifically for the shoot when we couldn’t find a white chair!
So we literally turned her portrait session into a styled shoot in a matter of weeks! It turned out beautiful and I’m so excited to share a bunch of favorites with you all! If you need some cakes or goodies made, you should totally contact Shayla, I know she would be happy to share her craft with you!
