Kayla contacted me about taking her engagement and wedding pictures earlier this year! After talking on the phone, we found out that my hubby and her soon-to-be hubby work for the same company! We talked about outfits/what to wear, props, making the session personal to them, and RITA’S.
For those of you who don’t know, Rita’s is a little Italian ice shop that also sells cream-ice, frozen custard, frozen lemonades, sundaes, and MORE! It’s pretty much delicious. I lived right down the street from it for years! Kayla explained to me that during the time that her and Mike dated, they would always go to Rita’s. On the day he proposed, he spent the day taking her to do things they had always done/or places they had gone together often. He proposed at BJ’s restaurant and they celebrated at Rita’s afterwards. So, she thought it would be fitting to do part of their session there! I was all for it!
For the second part of the session, we went to Millennium Park! We got to use a few of their personal props, such as save-the-date chalkboard, a little build a bear they made together, and a flower she kept from the first bouquet he gave her when dating! We stayed at the park till the sun set, which was beautiful!
I’ll end by saying, I am extremely happy that I was able to take their engagement photos, yet bummed that I don’t get to shoot their wedding. Their wedding is the first week in March and Baby McClure is due Feb. 25th! Unfortunately I had to tell Kayla that I wouldn’t be available for the wedding because I’ll have my hands full learning the in’s and out’s of being a first time Mommy! On the bright side, my wonderful photog friend Laura will be shooting their wedding!! That means they’ll be in GREAT hands!! You guys will have absolutely gorgeous wedding photos!! So excited for you two!
Now, on to the pictures!! 🙂
For those of you who know me personally, you would know thrilled I was to be taking pictures of rainbow sprinkles! I LOVE SPRINKLES.
Kayla, you’re absolutely gorgeous!!
Meet, Yoda Panda. These two made this little guy about 6 months into dating!
Truth be told, Mike insisted on including ‘Yoda Panda’ in the shoot because he can’t fall asleep without cuddling this little guy at night. 🙂
Mike, you know I’m only kidding!! [but, ya never know!!]
You two are so cute!! Love how these turned out!
‘Yoda Panda’ made a friend named ‘Roger Rabbit’ during the shoot.
Almost looks like Fall!! 🙂
And here’s the beautiful flower from the first bouquet Mike gave Kayla. PS. LOOK AT THAT RING!!!
I wish you both the very best!! Thank you for giving me the privilege of taking your photos!
