Let me start off by saying, this was the most unique engagement session I’ve had the opportunity to do. Sure, Disney is a very common place and is…well, the happiest place on earth, but it was SUCH a treat to be able to take Josh and Jessica’s engagement photos there!
I’ve known Josh for several years now and met Jessica about 2 and a half years ago. They are two of the sweetest most kind-hearted people you’d ever meet. Josh actually proposed to Jessica at the Magic Kingdom as the fireworks were going off! Just gives me butterflies thinking about proposals!
Anyway, when Josh asked me to take their engagement photos, at first I thought, seriously?! How flippin’ cool would that be if we could actually work that out! All the plans ended up coordinating and I was delighted to help capture memories they’ll have forever!
Jon was able to take the day off work and we had so much fun spending the day with them. Once we got into the Magic Kingdom, they gave us buttons that said, “Just Engaged!” So, the entire day, all 4 of us had workers saying “Congratulations!” every 10 minutes. Even though we figured they are required to say that, It still made us feel special. 🙂
The park was packed as usual, which made it interesting while we tried to get our shots without a parade blocking off the walkway, someone walking in front of the picture or photo-bombing in the back. I am glad that I have plenty of patience when taking pictures and am happy that Josh and Jessica just went with the flow throughout the session.
Some of the rides, we rode twice to make sure we got the shot, one of them being the carousel. The pictures from that part of the shoot are definitely my favorites! We couldn’t take all of our bags on the ride so Jon took them and found a place to sit. After riding it twice, we went to find Jon and he was no where to be seen! I figured he’s blending in with all the people, watching us look for him and laughing to himself…Nope. Josh saw some feet and bags sticking out from a wall, we walked over and found him napping against a wall. I made sure to snap a picture of it! So funny!
Towards the end of the shoot, Jessica and Josh made a quick trip back to their hotel to drop most of the bags off and take a quick nap while Jon and I were able to go on some rides! When they came back, we met up, took the last few shots and the 4 of us went on some more rides! Josh had an app on his phone that told how long the waiting time for each ride is, so we were able to hop from ride to ride the whole time. Then the castle was lit up and of course, we couldn’t not take a picture in front of it. I mean common, it’s the Magic Kingdom Castle!
We ended the night walking down main street while the buildings were blowing out snow from their roofs! Since Florida doesn’t get snow, real OR fake, I was extremely excited. So Jon and I did what anyone would naturally do when snow is falling…we tilted our heads back and stuck out our tongues to catch some fake snow! All in all, the entire day, the engagement session and the company, was fantastic!
Thank you Josh and Jessica for the trip to Disney and the pleasure of taking your engagement photos! Enjoy! 🙂
Jessica!! You’re absolutely gorgeous!
Sometimes I give couples direction in what they should do for the photo, but not here! I didn’t even know he grabbed a flower! It was sweet watching him give it to her though. 🙂
This is where we found Jon, napping with all the bags! 🙂
Yea, it was only a little bit crowded.
They were so sweet to take a picture of Jon and I! I’m glad we can also have a few pictures from the day!
Club Tinsel! “We’re gettin’ jingly with it!” Clever. I had to take a picture. 🙂
Does anyone have a childhood memory from Disney? What was your favorite ride?
