I’ve known Jessica since 2009! We met on an adventure trip where we stayed in tents, went white water rafting and slid down waterfalls like crazy people!
Every morning, we read a section of verses or a chapter in the bible. We were told to go off in a secluded spot and have our quiet time with God and pray about what we read and figure out what it means to us or what part stuck out the most. Jessica and I would normally find a spot somewhat close to each other and after we got done praying, we would go sit in a hammock that was placed over a little creek. We would tell each other what we got out of the chapter and then ended up talking about our lives and well, you know, girl stuff. 🙂 That’s when we clicked and became very close friends right after the trip.
Our friendship has been a strong one and completely genuine. Jessica is definitely one of the sweetest friends I have. Her and I have been on road-trips, plane trips, had countless girls nights, I watched her and Dave [who might I add, is a really awesome guy!] meet and their relationship develop, was a bridesmaid in her wedding, and have stayed in touch and updated on each others lives since then. I’m so happy to say she will also be a bridesmaid in my wedding! 🙂
So knowing this, you can guess how absolutely thrilled I was to find out that she’s pregnant and wanted ME to do their maternity photos when the time came! Well, that day had come and it looked gross outside and was raining. We’d already planned to get together before the session to go to Michael’s craft store, so we figured, if it doesn’t clear up, we’re OK with rescheduling and still having a craft day. We picked up the supplies needed to make the banner [you’ll see it in some of the pictures] and started getting crafty.
By the time we were almost done, a small ray of sun came through the window! Being optimistic, we quickly decided to go ahead and try to get the shoot in. As soon as we got there, we got some beautiful shots with ideal lighting! The sun went away for some of the shoot but we worked with it and I’m extremely pleased with how the pictures turned out!
I am ECSTATIC to meet little Lyla!! She is going to have some outstanding parents, let me tell ya!! Love you guys!
When the first picture you take at a session looks like the above photo, you KNOW it’s going to be a great shoot!! 🙂
You’re so pretty Jess!!
“AH! We’re having a baby!”
Two babies. 🙂
